When all of Europe is OOO
All of Europe is on holiday. Everyone is out of office, and the replies ping back as fast as you can send them. August means getting out of the cities and into the long evenings, appreciating the light while it lasts. Summer festivals fill the night sky, families gather, and the whole continent seems to exhale at once. The vineyards are heavy and green, and every long evening gets savored as something we know won't last.
I'm in a small wine village on the Mosel with friends, candlelight carrying the night late into the morning. Everyone is out in pure joy, no work, no stress. The kids are well past bedtime, running circles while the parents talk, and the jovial mood just lingers. I can't help but feel what a blessed life this truly is. A friend's daughter is darting around collecting the Pfand off everyone's empties, saving up for new makeup, and every adult is more than happy to hand theirs over so they can carry on.
